This past week has been full of Halloween festivities. Last weekend was the weekend Halloween dance and costume contest in Memorial Hall.

Prior to the dance, my mod and some additional friends went to a pumpkin patch where we did many fun things including playing in a “corn pit” (like sand just with corn kernels) and making a train down a long slide After we had our fun at the pumpkin patch we went to one of my modmates houses to carve pumpkins and have dinner. We had a wonderful time and after we were all full of good food and good conversation we headed back to Bethel so that we could get ready for the Halloween dance and costume contest!

At the dance, this years contest in my opinion was the most creative of my Bethel career yet. We had Zipperfaced Zombies, the Disney movie Aladdin cast, a rainbow with a pot of gold (my mod + Bree), Miley Cyrus, Mario Kart characters, and many many more. The dance ended this weekend of fun.

However, the Halloween fun wasn’t over yet! On alloween day, our mod participated in “trick-or-treat off the

street.” This is where the mods or rooms that want to participate have a pumpkin decoration outside of their door and people from the community can come to campus to trick-or-treat. Whoever has the pumpkin by there door has candy! My mod decorated our door and played Halloween music out into the courtyard for the occasion. It was so much fun to see all the kids in their costumes!

So to summarize, it was a great week full of fun and festivities, but now it is back to the books for me!

In West Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool and all, shootin some b-ball outside of the school..

My name is Baylee Teach. I am freshman softball player here at Bethel this year. I graduated from Halstead High, which is about ten minutes from Bethel. I plan on majoring in Secondary Education with my focus in history.

It has taken me forever to write my first post because I have been so incredibly busy. Moving to college is a huge adjustment and it has taken me until now to finally feel like I have a grip on what’s going on. At times I have felt extremely overwhelmed but I’ve found that random dance sessions and coffee breaks help. I hope everything is going well for you all!

I can’t believe it is so, but alas this is my fourth and final year at Bethel College! The years have flown by, I know we hear that all the time, but until now I didn’t realize just how fast my time here has gone.

I’ll give you a brief recap of my past 3 years at BC. I’ve been a member of the women’s basketball team and am currently in my fourth season. I’ve also been a writer for the Collegian (our student-run newspaper), transitioned to a sports editor, now I serve as the advertising manager. I’ve also expanded the clubs I’m involved in from FCA, to Femcore, Multicultural Student Union, and Photography club, and the Collegian.

I’ve been extremely impressed at the progress BC has made in the amount of diversity on campus, the cafeteria has improved so much you wouldn’t believe it, and the aesthetic appeal of this campus has been phenomenal.

Not only have I been involved in a multitude of organizations, but I’ve made an enormous amount of new friends. Joining those groups and being in classes with a variety of other people has provided some great experiences and lasting friendships.

I wouldn’t trade my time at Bethel for anything, I’ve grown as a person spiritually, intellectually, and physically (thanks to basketball). It’s been a great experience so far and I doubt my senior year will disappoint.

I look forward to this final year and the new adventures that it has in store for me!

Hello all! My name is Melinda Regehr. I am a junior here at Bethel and am majoring in Social work with a minor in Psychology. I am involved in many things here on campus, like SAA, SAC, and SCAN… or I just liked how those words looked on here, you can decide for yourself. I work in Admissions and Student life and am now writing for this lovely blog! I also volunteer at Western District Conference Library for my service learning scholarship.

Lastly, I like to keep myself busy with going to Applebees for half price apps, going to Druber’s (not really for the donuts, but for the Uno Blitz playing), hanging out with friends, and of course studying! Sometimes I sleep, but only when I have nothing else to do.

Since I have only been at Bethel for a week, I will tell you what I have been doing for the past few months. I was on summer staff at Camp Mennoscah as the office assistant. What did this include?? Well, many things. I ordered pictures, made address sheets, ordered bunches and bunches of pizza every Friday, I swam in flour and water, saw someone eat an enormous, squirming grasshopper, I spent many hours with some amazing staff, and I spent many hours with

some really amazing kids. I did all this and at the same time had time to find God in my life. It’s amazing how hard it is to make time for God in my life at school, but so easy to find God in all the running around at camp. This picture is of all of the Camp Mennoscah summer staff. We are some stunning Doctors!

Since I was at Camp from June-August, I really did not do much else. I went to a few weddings and that’s about all. This picture is from Aaron & Rachel Rudeen’s wedding. The girl next to me is Katelyn Melgren… nothing else needs to be said.

Just in case you are wondering who I live with… here are some of them. Yes, it is quite the adventure! My mod is full of tennis players, singers, writers, Music majors, Education majors, Social work majors, and I think even a Biology major. I am very excited to live with these amazing people and even more excited for this year in general!
