Soooooooo why do we have school on Labor Day? I know, school just started last week, but so did countless other colleges and universities around the country, and that hasn’t stopped them from taking the day off in recognition of a national holiday. Is it just me, or do you get a little more upset every time you hear someone say “have a nice, long Labor Day weekend”? Maybe it is just me.But isn’t there something wrong with not honoring the employed of America for whom the holiday was created? That includes (for those trying to catch up) our professors and administrators. Which brings me to my overarching realization: I’m not a working professional, it’s not my day. But still….come on.
