Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Hello all! My name is Jocelyn Wilkinson, and I’m a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas. I’m majoring in both Communication Arts and History, with a possible minor in Psychology. I chose communications because it allows me to keep in touch with theater (which I did a ton of in high school) while learning the basic concepts behind it; history I chose simply because I love the subject. One of the main reasons why I chose Bethel was, in addition to having the academic freedom to pursue the courses I wanted, I could also participate in a number of extracurricular activities. I’m a member of the Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Women’s Chorus, where I play oboe and sing with the soprano section; I have participated in and will continue to participate in a number of theatre productions here on campus, getting opportunities to stage manage, design lighting, and build sets; and I have had the opportunity to join the Bethel newspaper, The Collegian, where I will be serving as this year’s copy editor. As you can see, pretty much the only activity missing is a sport, which is for the best since I’m not the most coordinated of people.I’m very excited for this coming school year because it will not only be academically challenging but because I will get to strengthen the bonds I started making last year with my fellow Threshers, as well as with my amazing professors. I also can’t wait to get started on that long list of activities in the above paragraph. This year has so much in store, it will be very interesting to see how it all works out!
