MLK Day was so amazing. Out of the three years that I have been here at Bethel College, this year was the best ever! The support that was shown by the Bethel community as a whole is what made an impact on me, because this year the vibe wasn’t such as “oh this day is just for African Americans.” The day is for everyone to celebrate the life of a legend, and this is exactly what occurred on Monday. I also enjoyed all of the festivities, especially the 1:00 listening to his actual speech that he gave when he was in Memorial Hall 50 years ago. The speech was very moving and uplifting. I felt as if I were there, and he was actually delivering the speech that day!! It was amazing. I wonder how they will top off next year?
